Half a Day of Magic: Mist, Sunshine & Historic Streets

Located about 3.5 hours from Melbourne, Albury sits right on the border between Victoria and New South Wales. If you're road-tripping inland to Sydney, this is the perfect pit stop โ€“ just like it was for us! ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’จ ๐ŸŒ… Mungabareena Reserve | Riverside Serenity Started the morning casting a line by the river ๐ŸŽฃ, surrounded by mist and morning light dancing together. Perfect for a mindful walk, quiet, or just breathing with nature. Even met some pelicans happily fishing โ€“ probably laughing at my empty bucket! ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿฆข ๐ŸŒฟ Albury Botanic Gardens | Autumnโ€™s Last Embrace Even in late June, the gardens held onto traces of autumn, glowing softly under the sun. A sundial from 1850 still stands tall, basking in the light as if time stood still. ๐Ÿ‚โณ ๐Ÿ’ง West Albury Wetlands | Calm Waters & Quiet Hopes Followed the river from the gardens into the wetlands โ€“ said to be full of pelicans, though I didnโ€™t spot any ๐Ÿ˜…. The water was mirror-still, with dried branches peeking through in the shallow season. Gave fishing another tryโ€ฆ still no luck! ๐ŸŽฃ[่ฃ‚ๅผ€] ๐Ÿ›๏ธ Albury Citywalk | From Quiet Lanes to Vibrant Hearts Walking toward the town center, the vibe shifted from calm to cheerful. Heritage European-style buildings made me feel like Iโ€™d stepped into another era. At QEII Square, a local market was in full swing โ€“ stalls on the grass, live music ๐ŸŽถ, smiles everywhere. Soaking in the sun and sounds, I remembered how life should feel: simple and sweet. โœจ โ›ช The Old Bookham Church | A Golden Hour Surprise On our way from Albury to Canberra, we made a spontaneous stop in Bookham โ€“ and discovered this charming stone church glowing under the sunset. Tall eucalyptus trees whispered in the wind, and golden light brushed the walls like a gentle hand. Checked Google Maps later โ€“ guess what? Itโ€™s also a hotel! ๐Ÿก๐Ÿคฏ ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Bite the Moment Thai Lotus ๐ŸŒธ Google Maps didnโ€™t lie! ๐Ÿฆ Prawn Satay, ๐ŸŽƒ Pumpkin Curry, ๐Ÿœ Pad Thai โ€“ every dish was a flavor win. Mr. Benedict ๐Ÿง‡ A brunch spot worth the wait! Their Chicken Waffle came highly recommended โ€“ and totally delivered. Half a day was all it took to fall for Alburyโ€™s misty rivers, golden streets, and warm vibes. If youโ€™re passing through, give this little border town a few hours โ€“ itโ€™s small but full of soul. ๐Ÿ’› #Australia #Albury
