Located about 3.5 hours from Melbourne, Albury sits right on the border between Victoria and New South Wales. If you're road-tripping inland to Sydney, this is the perfect pit stop – just like it was for us! 🚗💨 🌅 Mungabareena Reserve | Riverside Serenity Started the morning casting a line by the river 🎣, surrounded by mist and morning light dancing together. Perfect for a mindful walk, quiet, or just breathing with nature. Even met some pelicans happily fishing – probably laughing at my empty bucket! 🙃🦢 🌿 Albury Botanic Gardens | Autumn’s Last Embrace Even in late June, the gardens held onto traces of autumn, glowing softly under the sun. A sundial from 1850 still stands tall, basking in the light as if time stood still. 🍂⏳ 💧 West Albury Wetlands | Calm Waters & Quiet Hopes Followed the river from the gardens into the wetlands – said to be full of pelicans, though I didn’t spot any 😅. The water was mirror-still, with dried branches peeking through in the shallow season. Gave fishing another try… still no luck! 🎣[裂开] 🏛️ Albury Citywalk | From Quiet Lanes to Vibrant Hearts Walking toward the town center, the vibe shifted from calm to cheerful. Heritage European-style buildings made me feel like I’d stepped into another era. At QEII Square, a local market was in full swing – stalls on the grass, live music 🎶, smiles everywhere. Soaking in the sun and sounds, I remembered how life should feel: simple and sweet. ✨ ⛪ The Old Bookham Church | A Golden Hour Surprise On our way from Albury to Canberra, we made a spontaneous stop in Bookham – and discovered this charming stone church glowing under the sunset. Tall eucalyptus trees whispered in the wind, and golden light brushed the walls like a gentle hand. Checked Google Maps later – guess what? It’s also a hotel! 🏡🤯 🍽️ Bite the Moment Thai Lotus 🌸 Google Maps didn’t lie! 🦐 Prawn Satay, 🎃 Pumpkin Curry, 🍜 Pad Thai – every dish was a flavor win. Mr. Benedict 🧇 A brunch spot worth the wait! Their Chicken Waffle came highly recommended – and totally delivered. Half a day was all it took to fall for Albury’s misty rivers, golden streets, and warm vibes.
