Half-Day Trip in Milwaukee ๐
Weekend plans brought me unexpectedly to Milwaukee, so I decided to spend half a day exploring. The weather shifted from sunny to cloudy, then overcast โ๏ธโฆ I walked over 10,000 steps and only got colder as the day went on. My biggest takeaway? Milwaukee feelsโฆ empty. Aside from a few people in downtown, the riverwalk, lighthouse, and parks were all quiet โ just a handful of folks here and there. Even along the river, with what looked like fancy apartments above, it felt like a ghost town ๐ป. I walked the trail from McKinley Park to Government Pier โ a full mile โ and only saw two people and one dog ๐. Hard to believe it was a Saturday in April! For lunch, I went to St. Paul Fish Company. Since it was a special trip, I ordered way too much (planned to take leftovers home!). The ingredients were fresh, but overall, it was just okay. ๐ฆ Lobster Roll: The bread wasnโt very soft, the fries were dry. The lobster itself was crisp, but itโs no match for my all-time favorite โ GT Fish & Oyster (RIP ๐ข). ๐ฒ Clam Chowder: Pretty watery. Glad I only got a cup. ๐ Fried Walleye: Meant to order cod, but the server recommended walleye. The fish itself was good, but it was overcooked. ๐ Bouillabaisse: Maybe Iโm just not a fan of seafood in tomato soup โ and the broth was way too salty. Not the most satisfying food day, but still glad I wandered ๐ฌ๏ธ. #DayTrip #Milwaukee #TravelDiary
