Half-Day Trip to Keystone Safari (Pittsburgh Zoo, PA)

Keystone Safari offers two routes: Drive-Through and Walk-Through. Tickets can be purchased on the official website: Combo ticket: $30 Animal food: $5/bucket Clear signs mark the two entrances, which are 800 meters apart. 🚗 The Drive-Through entrance is the one without a parking lot—don’t turn too early! Animals you can feed are shown in the pictures. 🈲 Do not feed zebras, antelopes, or bison. You’ll receive a bucket of feed—you can ask for an empty bucket to share it. One bucket is enough for 2-3 people. If you go at noon, the animals might be too full to interact (only deer and cows were interested when I visited). Recommend going in the morning! The drive-through route is 2 miles long with a 3 mph speed limit, taking about 1-1.5 hours. Follow the signs or trail behind the park’s sightseeing vehicles. 🧤 Bring gloves (optional)—there will be lots of slobber! 😂 Save any unused feed for the walk-through section (we didn’t know and threw ours away). The Walk-Through area features lions, black bears, anteaters, giraffes, monkeys, apes, and other common animals (variety is limited). 💰 Included with ticket ($5/person): Pick up feed (same as drive-through) at the entrance to feed animals around the park. Get a cup of carrots (for general feeding) and three lettuce leaves (for giraffes) at a small hut. Anteater Meet & Greet at 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM (check signs for exact times). Total recommended visit time: 2.5-3 hours. Most visitors are families with kids. #Pittsburgh #LifeInPittsburgh #UniversityOfPittsburgh #CMU #Zoo #PittsburghDayTrips #Pennsylvania #USAZoo #WeekendGetaways 🦒🐻🌳
