🍜 Halifax’s Ultimate Noodle & Pasta Guide 🇨🇦
8️⃣ Little New York – Their Creamy Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo Pasta is absolutely divine! 😍 It’s hands down my favorite creamy pasta in the city. The chicken is melt-in-your-mouth tender, the sauce is luxuriously rich, and the flavors are perfectly balanced—though definitely a treat-yourself kind of dish! 💫 For an extra touch of indulgence, add black truffle slices to elevate it to another level. 🍄✨ Don’t even get me started on their Garlic Fingers—crispy, cheesy, and downright addictive. My go-to order? Loaded with pineapple, bacon, and double cheese for that perfect sweet-savory combo. 🧀🍍🔥 9️⃣ Shuck – Their Lobster Pasta is a delicate, buttery delight—though the portion is on the smaller side, so consider it a luxurious add-on to their incredible seafood tower. 🦞🦪 While their beef tartare is solid, I’m obsessed with Kanpai’s marinated raw beef—tossed in fragrant sesame oil and so moreish that I could easily devour two portions in one sitting! 🥩💦 1️⃣0️⃣ Ma Captain – A hidden gem for Beef Noodles that taste like a warm hug. 🍜 The broth is light yet deeply savory, and while the noodles aren’t as springy as they once were, the dish still hits the spot. The real star? Their chili oil—intensely aromatic with just the right amount of heat (or lack thereof, for spice-averse folks). I drench my bowl in it every time! 🌶️😂 1️⃣1️⃣ Yong He – Okay, full disclosure: I’ve had some interesting service experiences here, but their Pork Bone Rice Noodles are undeniably delicious. 🍖 The broth is rich, comforting, and packed with umami—worth putting up with a little chaos for! 1️⃣2️⃣ Busan / Bione – These sister spots serve up identical menus, so pick whichever’s more convenient! Their Seafood Udon is a crowd-pleaser—mild, loaded with fresh seafood, and swimming in a savory broth. 🦐🍥 (Though I do miss the old, chewier noodles—bring them back! 😭) On the flip side, their Japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) is consistently flawless—sweet, savory, and loaded with crisp veggies. 👍 1️⃣3️⃣ Cha Baa Thai – Spicy Noodles = must-order! 🌶️🔥 Packed with bamboo shoots, asparagus, bean sprouts, and your protein of choice (I always go for beef), this dish is huge—perfect for sharing (or not, no judgment). 🐄 Their Green Papaya Salad is also a knockout—tangy, crunchy, and the ideal palate-cleanser. 🥗💚 1️⃣4️⃣ Thai Express – After sampling Pad Thai across the city, I can confirm: Theirs is the undisputed champion. 🏆 There’s one location where a particular chef (shoutout to the legend!) makes it just right—perfectly balanced, smoky, and always generous with the portions. Another strong contender? The spot under Scotia Square. And their peanut sauce? So good, you’ll want to drink it. 😋 ㊙️ Da Xing Noodle Factory – Insider alert: This unassuming shop supplies fresh noodles to countless local restaurants! 🏆 For just $5 a bag (cash only!), you can take home thick, thin, or wide noodles—just be sure to freeze them ASAP. Pro tip: Thaw, portion, and re-freeze for easy future meals. Their dumpling wrappers are also the best—sturdy, cheap, and miles ahead of grocery-store versions. Find them at 3569 Dutch Village (tiny shop, easy to miss!). That’s my (current) noodle hall of fame! 🎉 Got a favorite I missed? Drop it below—I’m always hunting for the next great bowl! 🍜💖 #halifax #foodlover
