Hatoyama Hall

#JapanTravelogue TurtleMountainHall is located in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo. 🍃🌸 Originally the official residence of former Japanese Prime Minister Kiyotaka Kato (1883–1959), it was built in 1924 and designed by architect Shinichiro Okada (1883–1932). This British-style building is steeped in history. Inside, the reception room, living room, and various items beloved by the Kato family over generations are preserved. 🍃🌸 Stained glass is frequently used in the entrance hall, reception room, and living room. On the staircase landing, there’s a pattern of pigeons flying around a five-story pagoda, as well as many calligraphic works by Kiyotaka Kato, such as the word “friendship,” reflecting the Kato family’s political philosophy and culture. 🍃🌸 #Tokyo 🌟🌟
