I came here after seeing rave reviews on Xiaohongshu โ but as soon as I saw the sign and location, I thought to myselfโฆ some things never change ๐ . ๐ถ๏ธ Must-order: The Crispy Fish was the star โ bouncy, flavorful, and seriously addictive! ๐ The Coupleโs Beef Slice (Fu Qi Fei Pian) was also solid โ tender, well-sliced, and nicely seasoned. ๐ถ๏ธ West Lake Beef Soup was a letdown though โ it wasnโt the classic clear, silky version I expected. They added mushrooms, which made it taste okay, but it lost that smooth texture and visual appeal ๐โ. ๐ถ๏ธ The Stir-Fried Pork Kidney had a slightly off taste. We even asked the server to try it โ she said it was normal, but something just didnโt feel right. Thankfully, no stomach issues afterward ๐๐ค. ๐ถ๏ธ Not a photogenic spot โ the decor is your typical old-school Chinese restaurant. No Instagrammable corners here ๐ธ๐ซ. ๐ถ๏ธ Service was understaffed โ only two servers for about five tables on a weekday night. It was hard to get anyoneโs attention ๐โฆ though they were nice once they came over. All in all โ an okay experience. Y1S1 (to be honest), it doesnโt beat those established Sichuan spots yet.
