Hawaii | Taxi Driver’s Insistence 🚖 Life-Changing Ube French Toast
And the most delicious, down-to-earth loco moco! 🍽️ The taxi driver on Oahu highly recommended it; he said it’s a shop he frequents whenever he’s near the airport. The value for money is explosive - just $22 for two people to eat until they’re full, cheap, generous portions, and a satisfyingly full feeling. It looks and feels very grounded, even serving food on disposable plates. 【Ube French Toast $9.75🔪】 Toast coated in egg and fried to a crispy outside with a soft inside, filled with super chunks of purple potato, topped with a generous amount of purple potato puree that’s scented with coconut milk and not too sweet. Ube/purple potato fans will find it hard to resist. 【Special Loco Moco $11.75🔪】 The best loco moco I’ve ever had, the luncheon meat seems to be a reduced-salt version and isn’t too salty. The homemade gravy is perfectly seasoned, coating the rice wrapped in egg, together for a hearty and satisfying meal. The only downside is that the hamburger patty is a bit overcooked. The menu has so many choices, it’s hard to decide. The coconut milk and macadamia nut pancake on the next table looks especially delicious, and the faint scent of coconut milk is irresistible from across the aisle. 🛎️ The mini shop is small enough to see the kitchen directly; it’s clean and tidy, but there are very few seats, mainly for takeout. The customers are all local workers, the service is super fast, and the staff are very enthusiastic, with ice water available for self-service. 🕙 Operating hours: Mon-Sat 5:30-14:00, remember to go early for breakfast/lunch!!! Sun 7:00-13:00 🅿️ Free parking at the plaza, lots of spaces available. #WantToDocumentThisMoment #ThisTemplateHasSomething #FoodiePotatoLookHere #UbeTaroMash #TaroMashLover #FrenchToast #OahuFood #HawaiiTravel #TravelGuide #TreasureRestaurantShare #LocalRecommendations
