Hawaii đș San Franciscoâs Chef Mouradâs Japanese-French Fusion!
đ Miro Kaimuki During our three nights in Waikiki, we had one night at La Mer, one night at Sushi Sho, and one night when we werenât sure what to book. This place looked the most appealing to me, but reviews on Xiaohongshu were mixed, so I was hesitant! đ«Finally, seeing that Chef Chris had worked at Mourad & Aziza in San Francisco, I decided to give it a try! (PS. After Mourad closed due to lease expiration on 10/26, Chef Mouradâs profile tagged this place, so who knows, maybe thereâs a chance to taste Chef Mouradâs creativity in the future!) âȘïž Prix Fixe $100 âȘïž Brioche Trio $110 âȘïž Escargot $24 âȘïž Foie $28 âȘïž N/A Nojito $11 Total: $342 The menu changes every month, so itâs a good idea to check their IG to see if theyâre serving ingredients you like to reduce the risk of disappointment. This monthâs menu included: â â«ïž Flounder, sweet wine, hazelnuts â â«ïž Parsnip root, curry, pomegranate, Miro sourdough â â«ïž Cod, cauliflower, olives â â«ïž Duck, Japanese pumpkin, cabbage â â«ïž Smoked chocolate, Thai tea, rum đ«To be honest, five courses for $100, including two main dishes, is pretty good value for money. If youâre looking for fine dining, it might be a bit rough around the edges, and Iâd recommend La Mer instead. đ«Theyâre not shy about pricing their add-ons; three brioches are more expensive than the entire menu, but the combination of caviar, sea urchin, and Ahi is quite enticing! The bread was crispy but a bit greasy, and I didnât like how the sauce overpowered the other flavors. However, caviar and sea urchin are always delicious, so if you want a photo-worthy dish, this is it! đ«We also ordered the escargot and foie gras. The escargot was a bit salty but still enjoyable for fans. As for the foie gras, I had better at La Mer the day before, so it didnât stand out. #Hawaii #HawaiiTravel #HawaiiTourism #HawaiiCuisine #Oahu #OahuCuisine #Honolulu #Waikiki #Hawaii
