Hawksmoor – No Substitutions (Still!) 🥩🍷

Ah, it’s been a long six years since our last visit to the UK (thanks, COVID…), and we’ve missed Hawksmoor Seven Dials terribly—it’s always been a non-negotiable stop on our London trips. Unsurprisingly, our dinner experience did not disappoint. It was wonderful to see the restaurant’s interior unchanged—still that warm, moody, and classic vibe we fell in love with. The staff created a welcoming and joyful atmosphere that made us feel right at home. ❤️🕰️ Now, the food: simply spectacular. We started with the Hawksmoor Smoked Salmon—the salmon (sourced exclusively for Hawksmoor) was nothing short of divine, rivaling the best we’ve ever had (the other being Rick's The Seafood Restaurant). Someone should write a song about this salmon! 🎶🐟 It was perfectly paired with the delicious Guinness bread—a match made in heaven. For our main, we stuck to our usual: the Fillet Steak. This time we went for the 275g—and oh, how we wish we had room for more! Hawksmoor’s fillet remains the best steak we’ve ever had (and we’ve had it many, many times…). 🔥🥩 Our classic sides—peppercorn sauce, creamed spinach, roasted sweet potato, and heritage tomato—were, as always, the perfect complement. Dessert was the Sticky Toffee Pudding—consistently rich, moist, and utterly irresistible. 🍮💫 Each course was expertly paired with wine recommendations from our friendly and knowledgeable server, Teilo: Grüner Veltliner with the salmon Hawksmoor House Red with the steak East India Luscious with the toffee pudding Each pairing elevated the dish beautifully.❤️💕 In a city where so many of our old favorites have sacrificed quality, it’s deeply satisfying to see that Hawksmoor refuses to compromise—on ingredients, execution, service, or staff. It’s remarkable how they consistently attract a team that delivers the true Hawksmoor experience with heart and skill. Hawksmoor Seven Dials offers a genuinely excellent restaurant experience: top-tier food, a beautiful setting, and first-class people.
