🐻 Helsinki Food Adventure: First Taste of Bear Meat 🐻
A family-style traditional Finnish restaurant located opposite Helsinki Cathedral, this place is almost always fully booked. Reservations are a must. The service is great, but on the day we visited, there was a group event, and our meal took quite a while to arrive, which was the only downside. They offer set menus and à la carte options, and you can check the menu online. 🐻 Tender Braised Bear with Porcini Mushroom Potatoes 68€ It also comes with venison sausage. To be honest, this bear meat was a bit tough and a little woody. It wasn't as good as the bear meat in Estonia. But it was a great experience, and it paired well with the sauce. 🦌 Slow Braised Sautéed Reindeer 29.9€ This is braised reindeer meat served on a bed of mashed potatoes. They love to eat it with lingonberry and pickled cucumbers. It didn't give me too much of a surprise. 🦌 Lumberjack’s Elk Burger and Potato Fries 28.9€ This is another type of deer called moose, and this one was quite impressive. I thought it would be dry and woody, but it was just as good as beef. It was juicy and had a great texture. Overall, it was really tasty! 🐟 Fried Arctic Char with Morel Mushroom Cream Sauce 31.9€ The fish was also well-prepared, smooth, and not over-fried. 🧀 Supreme Savotta 22.9€ This is a platter where you can try every traditional Finnish food they offer. It's quite unique. #Finland #HelsinkiTravel #HelsinkiFood #FinnishBear #HelsinkiExplore #FinlandTravel #FinnishFood #AroundTheCountry #EuropeTravel #Nordic #EuropeanLife
