Helsinki Rock Church | Temppeliaukion 🪨💒

🪨 This is the world's only church built into a rock. It's called Temppeliaukion Church, and because the entire church is constructed within a single rock, it's also known as the "Rock Church." 🪨 Its uniqueness lies in being carved out of a single rock. The original site of the church was a massive granite boulder. The designer hollowed out the rock and expanded the space inside, eventually creating a hollow form from the rock. 🪨 The church's ceiling is made up of 180 pieces of glass, forming a skylight that allows for 360-degree collection of natural light within the church. 🪨 The church is located in the heart of Helsinki. Use Google Maps to search for "Temppeliaukion" to check the operating hours (Fridays and weekends, as well as winter and summer hours, are different, so it's recommended to check the timings before going). Tickets can be bought directly from the official website, but I bought mine on-site for 6 euros. If you wish to light a candle, you can do so by inserting 2 euros per candle.
