Helsinki visit | Leaf 🍃 Restaurant Leaf
Today, I finally visited Ravintola Leaf, a Sichuan restaurant my friends and I have been eyeing for ages! 🤩 It’s located on the ground floor of Forum in the city center. There are three open - concept restaurants side by side, and Leaf is one of them 🍃. They serve a buffet on weekends, but we decided to order from the menu instead today. Without further ado, let’s dive into the dishes! 1️⃣ Boneless Chicken Feet with Pickled Chili 🌶️: An incredibly appetizing starter! It’s spicy, tangy, and has a hint of sweetness from the green and red chilies. So refreshing! 2️⃣ Mao Xue Wang (Blood Tofu and Assorted Ingredients in Spicy Soup) 🥘: The flavor wasn’t overly intense. I particularly enjoyed the blood tofu and beef in it. 3️⃣ Dry - Fried Pig Intestines 🍖: The intestines were deep - fried and fatty, but there was still a bit of gamy taste. Compared to the sauerkraut and beef my friend makes, I still prefer homemade 😂 4️⃣ Bullfrog with Pickled Peppers 🐸: This dish was sour, and the bullfrog meat was extremely tender and refreshing. Just wish the pieces of bullfrog were bigger! 5️⃣ Chicken with Sansho Pepper 🌿: The chicken was boneless and very tender. I didn’t find it spicy, and it was a great appetizer. 6️⃣ Garlic - Scented Spareribs 🍗: Small pieces of deep - fried spareribs, a bit dry. Surprisingly, this was the spiciest dish among them all! 7️⃣ Cumin Iron Plate Tofu 🥢: The tofu was also deep - fried. It wasn’t the juicy type I usually prefer. Overall, each dish had a distinct flavor. Unlike typical Sichuan restaurants, these dishes were less greasy and more refreshing. My personal favorites were the chicken feet, Mao Xue Wang, and chicken with sansho pepper. I’ll definitely be back to try more classic dishes next time! 🍽️ #Helsinki #Tandian #Food #SichuanCuisine #WeekendEats #LifeInFinland
