Hidden Gem in Salt Lake City|Tibetan Cuisine (Northwest Flavors) 🏔️🍜
Address: Cafe Shambala, 382 E 4th Ave, Salt Lake City I’m still in SLC and had to urgently share this recommendation! Seems like not many people talk about this spot online. As someone who grew up in Northwest China, this place instantly felt like home. ❤️🇨🇳 1️⃣ Butter Tea (tastes just like the salty milk tea I had as a kid!) 🧈🍵 2️⃣ Beef Thenthuk (hand-pulled noodle soup with beef—the noodles are a bit thin, but the broth is comforting!) 🥩🍲 3️⃣ Lamb Curry (finally had good fatty lamb again—so tender and flavorful!) 🍛🐑 4️⃣ Stir-Fried Pork Belly (Sichuan-style, reminiscent of salt-fried pork—yum!) 🌶️🥢 They even sell homemade cat-ear snacks (mao er duo)! Never expected to taste my childhood in Salt Lake City—it’s like a teleport back to Qinghai-Gansu-Ningxia! 😂 The price is great too: two people, three dishes, a pot of tea, plus tip came to around $60. We were stuffed and even took leftovers home! 🥡💸 #SaltLakeCity #SaltLakeCityFood #SLC #TibetanFood #NorthwestCuisine #ComfortFood #HiddenGem #FoodieFind #LocalEats #Nostalgia #AffordableEats #CulturalFlavors
