Highly Recommend Peacocks Tearoom π
If you don't like overly commercialized English afternoon tea, if you happen to be in Cambridge, and if you enjoy tea, you absolutely must visit Peacocks Tearoom by the riverside in the charming town of Ely. π΅ This place offers the widest selection of teas from around the world, boasts the best scones in Cambridge, and has an enchanting English countryside vibe. It was once rated by The Times as one of the top 5 tearooms to visit. So even though it was raining and we looked quite bedraggled, we still took the train to get here. π And it was worth it! We hadn't even finished our afternoon tea when we decided we had to come back again. We didn't go for the traditional three-tiered afternoon tea but opted for their signature items instead: π« Ely Tea π« Apple & Cinnamon Tea π‘ Homemade Scones π° Carrot Cake π½οΈ Scrambled Egg & Suffolk Ham Everything we ordered was delicious! Since it's family-run, the tearoom has a cozy atmosphere. The garden after the rain, the exquisite Victorian decorβnone of the commercial feel you get from hotels. Most of the patrons are British grandpas and grandmas, and you can really appreciate the British attention to detail and taste in their tea culture. On a cold day, with a warm cup of tea, even someone like me who doesn't usually drink tea can't help but fall in love with the British tea culture. #EnglishAfternoonTea #Cambridge #Ely #NearCambridge #FamilyLife #FamilyLifeInUK #UKLifeDiary #MalaysiansInUK #CambridgeEats
