Hojokban Korean Restaurant π
Price: $$ (40-50 per person) Dress Code: Casual π Ambiance: Not too noisy, perfect for chatting. But there's not much privacy, so you can easily eavesdrop on the next table's gossip. π£οΈ After a whole day without eating, I came here in the afternoon to try this Korean restaurant that's been gaining some popularity lately. We ordered four dishes to give them a taste. Each dish had a generous portion, so the value for money was pretty good. π Truffle Oil Pancake: Crispy and hard texture, the sauce is a nice appetizer. The truffle flavor is quite subtle. I recommend trying this one without other strong flavors, as they might overpower it. This is carb bomb number one! π₯§ Octopus Tteok-bokki: Tteok-bokki with octopus added. It's a bit sweet and quite spicy. Today's carb bomb number two. π π Pork Belly Bossam: The pork here is really good. Mostly lean meat with a hint of fatty meat, which makes it very tender. Since the portion of meat is indeed generous, it might feel a bit greasy. To counter that, the dish also comes with pickled radish, lettuce, and green onions to refresh the palate. π πRamyun Fried Rice: It's literally fried rice on top of ramen. They even give you the empty ramen packet to look at. (Checked, it's not expired.) π #NewYorkExploration π #NewYorkFood π
