Honolulu, Hawaii | Yummy Food Guide 😋🌺

Here are some must-try spots in Honolulu — from fresh poke to authentic Japanese flavors! 📍 Foodland Market Poke ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hawaiian-style poke bowl — “poke” means “to slice” in Hawaiian 🐟🍚 Unlike many places with cold hard rice, Foodland serves fresh, bouncy fish over warm rice 🌟 You can also get just the seafood without rice. Affordable, generous, and delicious! 📍 Tonkatsu Tamafuji ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Must book ahead! Two locations side by side. Besides their famous tonkatsu, we also loved the black tiger prawn tempura and donburi 🍤 Portions are big — you can ask for dishes without rice if you want to try more. 📍 I-NABA ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A small soba noodle shop — better with reservation 🍜 Light flavors. They also serve rice and sushi. 📍 Musubi Cafe Iyasume ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tiny shop like a mini grocery — no dine-in, takeout only 🍙 Line moves fast! Popular for spam musubi. 📍 Chong Qing Cuisine ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Strong flavors — authentic Sichuan! 🌶️ Famous for beef noodles, but I prefer the wan zha noodles (pea noodle) 😋 📍 Island Vintage Coffee ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Always crowded — long but fast-moving line 🥯 Taro Bagel with Ube Cream Cheese — so good it sells out sometimes! 🍠💜 📍 Kona Coffee Purveyors 🤎⭐️🧡⭐️💛⭐️ Open sandwiches are amazing 😍 Rich coffee — try coconut or pineapple pastries 🍍🥥 Affogato = perfect combo of coffee + ice cream 🍦☕ You can also buy their coffee beans! 📌 Fun fact: You’ll find tons of Japanese influence in Hawaii — from food to street vibes 🏮 That’s because in 1885, the Hawaiian Kingdom signed an immigration agreement with Japan to bring Japanese workers to the islands. By 1930, nearly 40% of Hawaii’s population was of Japanese descent. (But Hawaii was still annexed by the US in 1898.) 🍣 Many Japanese restaurants require reservations or open after 5 PM — plan ahead! Enjoy your food adventure in Hawaii! 🥰🌴 #HonoluluEats #HawaiianFood #PokeBowl #JapaneseFood #TravelHawaii #FoodGuide
