Hotel Life Diary - The Barnett, New Orleans
New Orleans truly overflows with cultural charm, and The Barnett—our first hotel stay here—left us with a wonderful impression ✨. The hotel is compact but radiates a tasteful retro-American vibe, both elegant and visually pleasing. One reason I chose it? The Smeg mini-fridge in the room! 🧊 Though small, it's undeniably stylish. Soft green baseboards, wooden doors, and mid-century modern furniture come together harmoniously—far from the overdone retro aesthetic, The Barnett’s vintage feel is just right. The shared spaces are small yet beautifully designed, and I absolutely fell in love with the eclectic wall art 🖼️. Sadly, the rooftop bar was closed during our stay. A pleasant surprise: even though I booked through Chase Travel, the front desk proactively asked for my World of Hyatt number, so I earned two bonus nights 🎉! The location is also a major plus—situated right on Bourbon Street, it’s within walking distance to great food and attractions 🍽️🎷. Before our trip, there had been some unrest in New Orleans, which made us hesitate. But it turns out this was one of the safest times to visit—police officers were stationed nearly every few steps 👮♂️✅. Tomorrow, we’re checking into the Maison Metier across the street, said to be one of the most beautiful and top-rated hotels in NOLA—and a Michelin One Key property! From the photos, it looks like a blend of neoclassical and maximalist design, a stark contrast to The Barnett’s MCM style. Can’t wait to experience something completely different! 🏛️🌟 #NewOrleans #HotelReview #TravelNOLA #BoutiqueHotel #MidCenturyModern #CityTravel
