House of Yoshin: A Taste of an Entire Spring 🌸
🌸A New York kaiseki restaurant that truly impressed me—House of Yoshin is tucked away in a charming two-story wooden house in Huntington, Long Island, with its own courtyard. It feels like stepping into a Japanese healing movie scene. 🌸The first floor houses the main kaiseki dining room and a cocktail bar, while the second floor is a whiskey VIP room. Every corner is thoughtfully designed with small details. We dined on the spring menu this time, with ingredients ranging from spring mountain vegetables to deep-sea UNI, presented so exquisitely it felt like an art exhibition: Wagyu Kobu-Jime + White Asparagus Tofu Sauce: A perfect balance of tender raw beef and the fragrant asparagus. 🌸Amberjack + Shiso Flowers, Daikon Puree, and Yuzu Vinegar: The amberjack is tender and delicious, complemented by the garnishes. Amadai Scale Grilled + Peas + Spring Spinach: Full of spring flavors in both taste and color. 🌸UNI Tempura: Crispy on the outside and melting like ice cream on the inside. Otoro + Apple Onion Sauce with Rice, Wagyu Rice, and Soup Rice: The fatty tuna belly combined with Wagyu beef and spring wild vegetables brings the meal to a climax with three bowls of rice. Dessert: A dreamy combination of cherry blossom white strawberries and ice cream, sweet but not cloying, with a unique and deliciously made azuki bean paste. #NewYorkJapaneseFood #LongIslandJapaneseFood #NewYorkKaiseki #LongIslandKaiseki
