How Delicious Is New York’s “Chanel of European Bread”? 🌟
Crust Baker, once a top-three finalist at Taste of CH,is hailed as the Chanel of New York’s European bread scene. 🗽️ We’ve been craving their handmade sourdough for a while, but with only 11.5 hours of operation per week and mostly pre-orders required,it felt unwelcoming. Thus, it took over 5 years to finally taste it. Here’s a quick share: 📝 How to Order: The order form goes live on Wednesdays at noon—no rush needed! 📍 Available at BK CH or Upstate Loch Sheldrake. 🍞 Three Types of Bread: House, Seed, and Olive. This time, we tried the Seed loaf for something new: Crust Baker’s sourdough is made from a blend of white flour, whole wheat flour, and a pinch of salt, all handcrafted. Seed adds flax, sesame, and sunflower seeds to the House base, while Olive includes green olives as well. 🗽️ The crust is super crispy with tiny slashes, which I personally love. Once sliced, the crumb has evenly distributed holes. It’s soft, moist, and has a gentle tang, pairing perfectly with various spreads and savory toppings. 🔎 Crust Baker 📝 The taste is so good it could be the best Euro-bread of the year! 💯 I’d definitely visit again. I asked the owner if walk-ins could get some early in the day, but the BK store is a bit far from Queens without a quick route. 🗽️ I guess I’ll have to wait until Thursday or Friday off to try it again... #NewYorkExploration 🗽️🍞
