How to Explore New York? Citywalk Part 1: Manhattan West! πΆββοΈ
New York City is mostly famous for its landmarks in Manhattan. So when you visit New York, especially for the first time, make sure to explore Manhattan thoroughly. How long does it take? About 3-4 days should be enough, covering roughly 80% of Manhattan and 20% of Brooklyn. How to explore Manhattan? It can be divided into Downtown, Midtown, Manhattan West, and Central Park. I'll introduce each part in the upcoming posts. This one focuses on the Manhattan West route! β€οΈβπ₯ π©· Starting Point: Penn Station - This station near the Empire State Building is super convenient for transportation! The view when you come out of the escalator is stunning. β€οΈ Stroll west along W 34th St. for a block or two and pass by Macy's Department Store. 𧑠Head to the charming neighborhood of Manhattan West. π Visit the iconic "Big Pinecone" (Vessel) - a unique observation structure, and pass by Edge - the sky-high observation deck. π Take a walk around, snap some photos, and feel the crisp winter breeze. π Then head to Hudson Yards, a new luxury shopping district with high-end brands. π©΅ Walk south for 10 minutes to High Line Park, and continue to the High Line Observation Deck. This area is in Chelsea, known for its diversity, street art, and many young independent artists. π Another 10-minute walk brings you to Little Island. I didn't go this time because it's too cold, but I'll definitely visit next time! Little Island is fascinating with its floating structures. Enjoying the river view and sunbathing here on a nice day must be amazing. π The Whitney Museum of American Art is nearby for art lovers. There's also the Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art, which I find really interesting! π€ The surrounding area is Chelsea, with the Chelsea Market. Wander around and explore the West Village, which isn't far. You can see the cultural vibe and urban landscape here - it's quite liberal, with a subcultural atmosphere and many charming vintage shops. π By this point, I'm sure you've had a fulfilling day. Save some energy for the next part: the classic Financial District! #NYCTravel #Manhattan #NewYork #USATravel #CitywalkNYC
