How to Have the Naples Royal Palace All to Yourself π°π
One of the four residences of the Bourbon kings of Naples during their rule over the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies (1730-1860). The palace's west faΓ§ade faces Piazza del Plebiscito, and from the outside, it appears quite modest and even somewhat unremarkable. However, stepping inside is truly breathtaking. Ticket Price: Adult ticket for 11 euros Operating Hours: 9:00-20:00 We arrived here at 10:30, and there were hardly any people inside or outside, to the point where we spent a good while looking for the ticket booth. Entering the palace, we were met with an extreme white βͺ that, combined with light and shadow and intricate patterns, would not be considered outdated even today. This aesthetic was centuries ahead of its time (followed by bedrooms adorned with extreme gold π¨). Walking through, we tried to imagine the noble life of the 18th century within these walls, but found that it was so far removed from our own lives that our imagination fell short. All we could muster were snippets from Downton Abbey π€£. Finally, there's a small gallery exhibition. Though not large in scale, it's evident that great care has been taken in the presentation, with thoughtful lighting. Once again, we appreciated the solitude. #Italy #GreatPlacesInItaly #ItalianLandscapes #Naples #PlacesYouHaveToVisitOnceInALifetime
