Hunan Tapas – Same Soul, New Name 🔥
Second visit and still spice-obsessed! Prof Chan’s has quietly re-branded to Hunan Tapas, but don’t worry—the Hunan DNA is 100% intact. I brought friends for round two, asked for “mild” heat, and we still got that fragrant, layered fire… gentle enough for chilli-shy newbies, complex enough for die-hards. 🥇 Pickled-Chili Flounder (mild) New name, same show-stopper. Silky, springy fillets, zero fishiness, peppers bright and tangy, heat dialed down to “post-work comfort” level. Pour it over hot rice and ascend. 🍗 Hot-&-Sour Chicken Gizzards (mild) Crunch-crunch-crunch! Gizzards cooked to that perfect bouncy snap, hot-sour balance that keeps chopsticks moving. Textural heaven. 🐂 Stir-Fried Young Beef (mild) Wok-hei perfume bomb. Beef sizzled with green & red peppers and ginger threads—warm heat, mega aroma. 🍆 Pounded-Pe Eggplant (mild) Hidden gem. Eggplant cloud-soft, zero grease, smoky pepper relish woven through—rice-killer in disguise. 🥔 Hot-&-Sour Shredded Potatoes (mild) Grandma-level home cooking. Knife-cut strands stay crisp, vinegar-pepper ratio on point—palate cleanser & addict all at once. 🐸 Blazing Pickled-Chili Frog (mild) Plump frog soaks up that pickled-pepper elixir—tingly, tangy, fragrant. Even the veg is drunk on chilli; keep rice close for damage control. 🫶 Every plate nails the spicy-aromatic soul—worthy of a 2nd, 3rd, 4th trip! 📍 Hunan Tapas 4107 Crescent St, Long Island City, NY 11101 #HunanBeyondHeat #ChillHeatHeaven #SpiceButMakeItGentle
