I’d Wait Another 4 Weeks Just for These Clams!

Tucked away on Oxford Street, this Spanish restaurant turns out to be the last traditional Tapas spot in London! The music here is all Spanish street songs, and every dish is bursting with authentic Spanish flavor 🇪🇸. The restaurant is divided into two floors: the upper level boasts a Michelin star🌟 and requires advance reservations, while the lower level is walk-in only, and the menus differ between the two floors. This time, we booked the upstairs two weeks in advance, with an average cost of £80 per person. Prawn Croquetas 🍖 The golden, crispy exterior encases a filling that’s rich in dairy and features tender shrimp. The moment you take a bite, the dairy flavor explodes. When eaten hot, it oozes deliciously, and you’re instantly won over 😍. Monkfish Tempura 🐟 With a thin, crispy coating and succulent, juicy fish inside, each bite is a burst of freshness. Paired with lemon juice, it’s refreshing and not greasy at all. I didn’t expect tempura to be so authentically Spanish. Calm 🦶 The clams are impeccably cleaned and pan-seared to a slightly charred finish. They’re tender, free of sand, and full of juice. A simple squeeze of lemon juice releases an intense sweetness, and they’re huge! Padron with Quail Eggs 🫑 The slight spiciness of the green peppers complements the soft, rich quail eggs perfectly. This combination creates an amazing flavor balance that’s hard to stop eating. It looks plain but turns out to be the most addictive drinking snack! Tortilla Gallega 🥔 While this traditional Spanish snack feels a bit ordinary here, the semi-cooked egg is just right, with a smooth, fluffy texture in every bite ☁️. Seafood Rice 🦐 This dish is incredibly fresh! The rice is super flavorful, with each grain being plump and chewy. Paired with large shrimp and monkfish, it’s so delicious that the plate is cleaned in no time. By the end, you’ll wish you could scrape the bottom of the pan clean. Crisp Fried Pig’s Ears 🐷 This dish is very popular. The pig’s ears are fried to a crispy, crunchy finish and melt in your mouth. They’re delicious with the special sauce, but if you miss the sauce, they taste a bit like British pork. Pulpo a Feira 🦑 The octopus is tender and chewy, with precise cooking that preserves its natural sweetness. Paired with smoked paprika, it offers a rich and authentic flavor. Close your eyes, and you’ll feel like you’re in a Galician town. Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 #London #UKStudentLife #LondonFood #LondonSpanishCuisine
