I've Tried the Osmanthus Black Tea Salted Cream Roll for You 🍰

Although I had to pick it up in The Hague myself, come on, it's a Swiss roll! And it's a new flavor; how can I resist the urge to rush over? (I'm seriously in love with Swiss rolls 🫢🏻) So after spotting it online on Tuesday, I quickly placed an order and made a reservation in one go. Since my milk frothing skills have improved recently, I've been captivated by the osmanthus aroma in my osmanthus oat latte. So when it came to choosing a flavor, I picked the osmanthus black tea salted cream without hesitation. On Sunday, 🦊 and I went to Single Estate for coffee first, and bought a Miffy mini fork to go with the little cake (just an excuse to spend money). Then we strolled over to Shi Kitchen to pick up the cake. The two matcha cookies given as a gift were devoured by two hungry folks on the way. Matcha, nuts, and butter all smelled and tasted delightful. As soon as I opened the box, I could smell the pastry flavor tinged with tea, and when I sliced it, I could see the cake was supple and bouncy. The cake had a uniform texture, just the right level of moistness, with bits of black tea for a strong tea flavor when bitten into. The cream was slightly salty, smooth without any graininess, and I really liked the milky taste, but it felt a bit salty after eating too much, and I didn't quite pick up the osmanthus flavor. The ingredients felt quite substantial; the lady said they're generously added. Fans of Swiss rolls should definitely give it a try. While taking photos to accessorize, I found the little plate that came with the cake, 🦊's spring little yellow flower special edition napkin, and a test tube arrangement made from the flowers I survived with last week. The color scheme matched perfectly, and I absolutely loved it. It made for a happy hour today. #Netherlands #DutchFoodExploration #DutchLife #TheHague #HagueSpots #HagueFood #DutchHomemadeCakes #CakeRoll #SwissRoll #GoodStuffRecommendation #GoodStuffSharing
