I heard Portuguese cuisine lacks the “rice tension”
Usually, I eat at traditional community canteen-style restaurants, where the charcoal-grilled fish 🐟 is served with boiled potatoes 🥔/broccoli 🥦/carrots 🥕, without any seasoning. As someone who prefers light flavors, I didn’t think there was any issue. But after sending photos to friends, I was always met with their disdain, and I finally realized the problem 😂 🌟For our 9th anniversary celebration, we specifically searched for a restaurant with good presentation and even better taste, Adega das Gravatas. Highly recommended. Grilled octopus and stone-grilled steak are their signatures, with very generous portions that even two people who work out couldn’t finish and had to take away. The vegetables there were surprisingly delicious. 🌟Later, to my surprise, I found out that this restaurant was actually run by a colleague’s dad, and he even comped our meal. Such a kind person. Out of gratitude, I inquired about why the vegetables were so good, and the uncle said they come from their own garden. Wow, organic premium produce really makes a difference. 🌟I’ve been to this restaurant a couple of times now, and every time friends visit Lisbon, we take them there. Though it’s a bit of a trek, it’s totally worth it. Already looking forward to the next visit~ #RestaurantRecommendation #HiddenGemRestaurant #GlobalFoodieSquad #WeeklyFoodCheckIn #PortugueseCuisine
