I Saw the Beautiful Moon Rise 🌙✨
I think it was that once-in-a-lifetime kind of trip that led us to this area — eager to taste more of what makes San Antonio the Tex-Mex capital of Texas. I've heard longtime neighbors around Bolner share decades of stories about this small, rustic yet well-preserved stone restaurant, famous for selling literal tons of tortillas every year. The fresh-fried triangular tortilla chips served with warm homemade salsa were rich, addictive, and utterly satisfying. A dozen or so chips paired with earthy brown beans and sunny golden cheese atop pointed wedges looked like a royal offering on fine bone china. Jalapeño slices added just the right kick — the perfect touch to these crispy triangles. 🌶️🧀 If I had to name this dish, I’d call it "The Companion." Everything on the plate harmonized perfectly with me. And then came the enchiladas — one beef, one cheese — bathed in a glorious pool of melted cheese, savory chili gravy, and smooth bean sauce. They reminded me of the school lunch enchiladas from my childhood Wednesdays… the very start of a lifelong love affair. 🏫❤️ Why don’t rice, beans, fluffy tacos, and tortillas always deliver the same thrill? They were all good — but the real showstopper was the tostada, piled Himalayan-high with tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese over refried beans. It demanded extra oxygen to climb and a maxed-out calorie burner to make room in my already-full tank! 🏔️😅 After that lunch, I officially became a Blue Moon tortilla enthusiast — hooked for life! #TexMexHeaven #SanAntonioEats #TortillaLove #EnchiladaMemories #FoodNostalgia
