Iceland | Must-Try Restaurant in Reykjavik 🍴

💌 Foodcellar isn’t widely recommended online, but it’s a local favorite—packed with diners and buzzing with great ambiance. 🔥This creative fusion spot masterfully highlights Iceland’s finest ingredients: beef, lamb, fish, and prawns, all top-notch. (We skipped the "adventurous" local specialties.)🔥 🍽️ Our Order: 🥨 Pretzel bread: Freshly baked, crusty, and served with a subtly flavored dip—carb-lover’s dream. 🦐 Black tiger prawn skewers: Lightly tempura-fried with a delicate, crispy coating, paired with wasabi mayo. 🥩 Ribeye steak: Buttery and rich, topped with egg yolk sauce, alongside roasted mushrooms and crispy potato slices.🧇 🐟 Cod: Flaky and tender, served with asparagus, morel mushrooms, and a mysterious-but-delicious mini spring roll (wish we could order extras!).🧇 🥣 Accompanied by a tangy hawthorn sauce—perfect balance. 🥬 Grilled romaine salad: A crisp, refreshing must for veggie cravers. 🍰 Rhubarb pie: A Nordic classic! The nutty-oat-almond crust was warm and toasty, and the vanilla ice cream was so divine, our server gifted us extra scoops after we raved about it.🥣 (Shoutout to the attentive yet unintrusive staff!)🥣 💌 Also tried the chocolate lava bar (heavenly!) and non-alcoholic drinks. Impeccable dining experience overall. 💌 Set Menu Highlights (subject to change, but trust the chef!): 🔸 Secret Omakase (6 courses, market-driven) 🔸 Surf & Turf: Fried scallops, black pepper steak + lava cake 🔸 Icelandic Essentials: Slow-coded cod, smoked arctic char, lamb + rhubarb pie 🔸 Seafood Lover’s: Cod soup, catch-of-the-day fish, lemon curd 🔸 Vegan Journey #Iceland #IcelandTravel #ReykjavikEats #IcelandicCuisine
