📍 Iceland | Whale 🐳 Puffin 🦜 Reindeer 🫎 Icelandic Sheep 🐏
We came during the Spring Festival, so this was actually a New Year’s Eve dinner, haha! The main purpose of coming here was for the whale, puffin, and reindeer. We originally just wanted to try something new without any high expectations, but this place surprised us with both its atmosphere and the food. If we have the chance to come back, we definitely want to dine here again! 🐏【Lamb Chops】🐏 It’s lamb chops, from local Icelandic sheep. I feel that lamb from different parts of the world tastes a bit different, but not significantly so. The sauce that comes with the meat is absolutely delicious! Especially the white yogurt sauce in the middle, it’s so good with everything that we even wanted to take some back to the hotel to continue eating, haha. 🐳【Whale】🐳 The small strip in the second picture is the whale. It’s not fishy; the texture is a bit like beef fiber (I might not remember correctly), but the taste is different from beef, quite unique. It was cooked to perfection, and I had no trouble getting used to it. The sauce recommended by the waiter on the side made it even better. 🥗【Vegetable Salad】🥗 A warm salad. Mainly composed of local mushrooms. Iceland doesn’t produce much leafy vegetables, mainly roots and mushrooms. This dish was surprisingly delicious! It was a balanced meal, and we even wrapped the vegetables in meat to eat them. 🦜【Puffin】🦜 It looks red. The texture is like some sort of animal’s raw liver. I couldn’t handle it at all, but I managed to eat one piece. There were four pieces in the plate, we each ate one, and that was our limit. The juice in the plate was also red, and even though it was cooked, the doneness was very low. 🫎【Reindeer】🫎 I absolutely loved it! The reindeer meat itself is a bit coarse in fiber and can be tough when it cools down, but the square pieces inside, that’s reindeer belly fat, super delicious!!! Crispy on the outside, and the inside tasted like sweet and sour, well marinated! A must-try! #RecordingDeliciousFoodOnTheJourney #Iceland #IcelandTravel #WesternCuisine #Reykjavik #WhaleMeat #ReindeerMeat #PuffinMeat #LittleDeerHeartTakesYouToEatEatEat
