Idaho Falls โ€” A Charming & Affordable Town Near Yellowstone ๐Ÿž๏ธโœจ

Located about two hours from Yellowstone National Park, Idaho Falls may not be the closest base, but it offers great value for money! We stayed at the Shilo Hotel โ€” in the evening, we took a relaxing stroll behind the hotel along the Snake River. With peaceful views, nearby restaurants, and friendly locals walking around, it was the perfect unwind spot. ๐ŸŒ‰๐Ÿƒ We didnโ€™t plan much before coming โ€” just needed a stopover. But the name got us curious: โ€œIdaho Fallsโ€โ€ฆ with Americans being so literal, there had to be a waterfall, right? Well, guess what โ€” we discovered itโ€™s home to the largest human-made waterfall in the U.S.! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ’ฆ How cool is that? The next morning, we visited the falls before hitting the road. Itโ€™s super close to the hotel and definitely worth a quick stop โ€” allow about an hour. We also dropped by the Idaho Potato Museum ๐Ÿฅ”๐Ÿ  โ€” where we saw the worldโ€™s largest potato chip, tried potato ice cream and butter-baked potatoes, and learned all about potato farming and production. It was a fun and quirky experience! That said โ€” if youโ€™re short on time, itโ€™s okay to skip it. Perfect little hidden gem near Yellowstone! Highly recommend if you want something more local and less touristy. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ‘Œ #IdahoFalls #Yellowstone #RoadTrip #TravelIdaho #SnakeRiver #HiddenGems #PotatoMuseum #USWaterfalls #AffordableTravel
