Idaho Falls — A Charming & Affordable Town Near Yellowstone 🏞️✨
Located about two hours from Yellowstone National Park, Idaho Falls may not be the closest base, but it offers great value for money! We stayed at the Shilo Hotel — in the evening, we took a relaxing stroll behind the hotel along the Snake River. With peaceful views, nearby restaurants, and friendly locals walking around, it was the perfect unwind spot. 🌉🍃 We didn’t plan much before coming — just needed a stopover. But the name got us curious: “Idaho Falls”… with Americans being so literal, there had to be a waterfall, right? Well, guess what — we discovered it’s home to the largest human-made waterfall in the U.S.! 😲💦 How cool is that? The next morning, we visited the falls before hitting the road. It’s super close to the hotel and definitely worth a quick stop — allow about an hour. We also dropped by the Idaho Potato Museum 🥔🍠 — where we saw the world’s largest potato chip, tried potato ice cream and butter-baked potatoes, and learned all about potato farming and production. It was a fun and quirky experience! That said — if you’re short on time, it’s okay to skip it. Perfect little hidden gem near Yellowstone! Highly recommend if you want something more local and less touristy. 💛👌 #IdahoFalls #Yellowstone #RoadTrip #TravelIdaho #SnakeRiver #HiddenGems #PotatoMuseum #USWaterfalls #AffordableTravel
