🎨 If You Had One Extra Day | Hidden Gem Modern Art Museum 🏙️✨

🗽 MOMA PS1 is a cutting-edge art museum I didn’t plan to visit before coming to New York, but I didn’t regret it at all once I got there. First of all, the building itself is artistically integrated into the city—it’s converted from an old school, and the exhibition halls are former classrooms. The exhibits are constantly changing, and you can feel the experimental nature and provocative attitude of the artists. 🎨🏫 🛋️ Modern art can be hard to understand, but I found myself drawn to the unexpected creative approaches, color palettes, and use of modern technology. One piece that left a deep impression was a room designed like a living room. Walking in, I thought I had stepped into someone’s actual home—it had such a retro vibe with great aesthetics. Visitors were standing around chatting, sitting on the couch watching TV, or flipping through magazines. When I walked in, I thought they were performers! It really felt like the audience had become part of the art. I even sat on the couch for a while, letting the radio-like sounds in the room serve as slightly noisy white noise to clear my mind. 🛋️📻 📮 MOMA PS1 is not in the same location as MOMA. PS1 is in Long Island City, so you can explore other spots in the area, like Jackson Ave. If the weather’s nice, head to Hunters Point to see the Pepsi Cola Sign and enjoy a riverside view of Manhattan. Just a few minutes away, the Queens Public Library at Hunters Point is worth a visit for its unique exterior (you can go inside, but the guards will say no photos allowed). 📚🏙️ Pepsi Cola Sign: Located in Hunters Point, or just search “Pepsi Cola Sign” on the map. Queens Public Library at Hunters Point: 47-40 Center Blvd, Long Island City, NY 11109 🎫 Admission to MOMA PS1 is $10, but if you have a ticket to MOMA from the last 14 days, you can visit for free (most tourists probably plan to visit MOMA anyway 😆—don’t throw away your ticket!). New York State residents can enter for free. ‼️ Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Open from 12 PM to 6 PM, with extended hours until 8 PM on Saturdays. ⏰🚪 #ModernArtMuseum #NYCArtMuseums #NYCMuseums #MOMA #CaptureTheMoment #OfCourseRecordIt #NYCTravel
