In London, My "Korean Food Life" is Complete
Kangnam Pocha is hands down my favorite Korean restaurant in London! I’ve been three times now, and every single visit leaves me thinking, “This is so good!” I’ve gone with different friends, and we all agree—it’s a total hit 🥹. The restaurant has two floors, but no matter when I go, there’s always a wait! But the food is so delicious that I’m happy to queue—honestly, I’d wait anytime for this spot. 🐮 LA Galbi (Grilled Short Ribs) This is my absolute obsession—I order it every single time I visit! The short ribs are incredibly tender, coated in a sweet, glossy sauce that’s right up my alley. Each bite melts in your mouth, with the sauce’s sweetness balancing perfectly with the meat’s savory flavor. It’s the kind of dish that makes me look forward to coming back. 🥣 Gamja Tang (Spicy Pork Spine Stew) Just hearing the name makes me think of the pork spine stew from the K-drama Dal-ri and Gamja-tang—total nostalgia! Like all classic Korean stews here, it comes with purple rice (boribap), which feels so authentic. The pork spine is braised until it’s fall-off-the-bone tender, soaked in a rich, slightly spicy broth. It’s perfect for London’s cold winters—sipping that warm broth and eating the tender meat? Pure happiness ❄️. 🥤 Seafood Pancake (Haemul Pajeon) This is another must-order for me (though I sometimes switch to kimchi pancake—both are equally amazing!). The pancake is grilled until the edges are crispy and crunchy—you’ll hear a satisfying “crunch” with every bite! They don’t skimp on the fillings either: you’ll get plenty of fresh seafood (shrimp, squid, etc.) and green onions in every slice, making it hearty and flavorful. 🥤 Milkis (Cream Soda Yogurt Drink) This is my personal favorite drink to pair with the food! It’s like a carbonated yogurt soda—light, creamy, and super refreshing (some might call it a “yogurt cream soda”). The best part? I loved Milkis back in China, so being able to order it here feels like a little “dream come true” 🥺. It cuts through the richness of the meat and stew perfectly. 📍 Location & 💰 Price - Address: 176 Drury Ln, London WC2B 5QF (near Covent Garden—super easy to get to after exploring the area!) - Average cost: £15-20 per person (such a steal for the portion size and quality!) #DailyFoodDiary #UKTravel #LondonFood #LondonKoreanFood #UKFood #UKKoreanFood #KoreanCuisine
