In Paris | Dining at a Century-Old Restaurant
While touring Paris, I visited a “century-old establishment.” 📍La Tour Montlhéry - Chez Denise The location is great, right next to Notre-Dame Cathedral Just a 10-minute walk away. The menu is written on a blackboard, no paper menus here. The waiter will bring it to your table and let you order. They serve a whole bottle of red wine and you pay for what you drink (quite casual) Neither of us is a fan of foie gras, so we only had a tiny bit and left it at that. The crispy roast duck was excellent, and yes, quite oily. The red wine beef was super tender. Radishes are self-served from the table, nice and tangy to cut through the richness.🌟 The portions are huge, We couldn’t finish it all, Ended up overeating and still couldn’t finish 🥲 And you absolutely must make a reservation in advance! I saw many people turned away because they didn’t have one. While we were eating, the staff told new customers: There are no available seats before 10 PM! The restaurant only takes reservations by phone. I made mine about a month in advance. One male server speaks a little English, He didn’t understand “April 4th” Finally, I had to use a computer translation to play it for him To secure our booking 🌚 I’ve been fortunate to see the world standing on the shoulders of my parents, Now I’m working hard and saving up, squeezing in moments to experience the world. #FrenchCuisine #TreasureRestaurantShare #HiddenGems #FoodWithoutBorders #GlobalEatingSquad #FoodExploration #Restaurant #ExperienceForeignCuisineTogether #France
