🍣 In Toronto, I Can Always Trust This Place’s Quality
This meal truly felt like a joyful reunion — From now on, 📍 Kingyo is my favorite Japanese restaurant in Downtown Toronto! ❤️ I last visited Kingyo shortly after its renovation, mainly to try their Makunouchi Platter (a 12-item tasting plate). Returning after so long, I’m amazed at how much the menu has evolved — every dish feels thoughtfully crafted, and honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything. And then… I discovered their incredible set meal: $42 for: 🍖 Braised thick pork belly with soft-boiled egg 🐟 Three pieces of fresh sashimi 🍜 A mini udon (choose from: Gobo Tempura Udon (burdock root tempura + raw beef in Osaka-style broth) $2: Uni & Crab Cream Udon $3: 3A Ribeye Shabu Udon 🍚 A mini donburi (many choices — I went with chirashi!) It’s seriously so cute 🥹 and both the udon and chirashi were delicious. The gobo tempura soaked up the broth beautifully — umami overload! And that chirashi don with a splash of soy sauce… so sweet and fresh! Even dessert surprised me — they have parfaits! The mochi parfait was sold out, but the 🍮 Pudding Parfait was gorgeous — $12 and worth every penny. Pretty and delicious! 📍 Kingyo Fisherman’s Market 51B Winchester St, Toronto 👆🏻 Once again reminded: Japanese culinary craftsmanship is simply unmatched. 👏 #TorontoFood #JapaneseCuisine #WorthTheWait #KingyoToronto
