In Toronto, I Can Always Trust This Restaurant’s Strength
After this meal, it truly felt like a joyful reunion after a long separation. From now on, 📍Kingyo has become my favorite Japanese restaurant in Downtown Toronto. The last time I visited Kingyo was shortly after its grand reopening, when I rushed to try their Makunouchi Platter (a lavish assortment of 12 dishes). Returning after so long, the menu has improved and matured so much—it feels like every dish is a delightful surprise now. And among the dazzling array of options, I discovered an AMAZING set meal… Only $42, and it includes: ✔ Braised Thick-Cut Pork Belly with Soft-Boiled Egg ✔ Three Slices of Fresh Sashimi ✔ A Mini Udon Bowl (Choice of: Gono Tempura Udon – Burdock Tempura & Raw Beef Osaka-Style Broth Udon) ➕ $2 Upgrade: Uni & Crab Cream Udon ➕ $3 Upgrade: 3A Ribeye Sukiyaki Udon ✔ A Mini Donburi (So many choices! I went with the Chirashi Don) SO. DARN. CUTE! Both the udon and chirashi bowl were delicious. The burdock tempura soaked in the broth became incredibly flavorful. A big scoop of the Chirashi Don with soy sauce—so sweet and satisfying! After filling up, I noticed two types of parfaits on the dessert menu 🥹 The Mochi Parfait I wanted was sold out, but the 🍮 Pudding Parfait Cup turned out to be gorgeous! At $12, it was totally worth it—satisfying both my aesthetic cravings and my taste buds. 📍 Kingyo Fisherman’s Market 51B Winchester St, Toronto 👆🏻 Once again, I’m amazed: Japanese restaurants really know their stuff! #TorontoFoodie #JapaneseCuisine #WorthTheWait #FoodExplorer
