In Turkey πΉπ·, Pamukkale, the place I expected the least, left me utt
Pamukkale is known as the "new generation of face-lifts" in Turkey and is the most dreamlike tourist attraction. Located in the city of Denizli, Turkey, it is also a famous hot spring resort and the only travertine landscape listed in the World Cultural Heritage. Before coming to Turkey, Pamukkale was the attraction I expected the least from, mainly because people online said that the gap between the pictures and the actual place was too great, and some even said the water was smelly. However, the reality was stunningly beautiful on the day I went!! It has become the most unforgettable memory of my trip to Turkey, without a doubt. π β¨οΈ The white Pamukkale, with its mountains and waters, is known as "the most beautiful hot spring in the world." It has been a hot spring resort since Greek times, and it is said that even Cleopatra once soaked here. A local guide mentioned that Pamukkale might completely disappear in about ten years, mainly due to the unreasonable development at the beginning, with wastewater discharged into it, so we are fortunate to still be able to see it now! Another must-visit is the ancient Greek city ruins of Hierapolis adjacent to it, which is also part of this world heritage. The word "Hierapolis" comes from Greek and means "sacred city," which objectively illustrates the history of this ancient city. Hierapolis was originally built in the 2nd century BC during the ancient Greek kingdom of Pergamon and later flourished under the continuous improvement of the ancient Romans. However, no matter how powerful humans are, they cannot resist the forces of nature. An almost perfect ancient Roman city was reduced to ruins in an unprecedented earthquake, leaving only the broken walls and ruins. Romantic and decadent at the same time, this probably best describes Pamukkale. Walking barefoot on the white stalactites of Pamukkale, Feeling the fairyland created by nature's extraordinary craftsmanship, This is the romance. π Walking to the top of the Pamukkale mountain to the ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis, With rubble everywhere and the ruins standing quietly on the mountaintop overlooking the world, It always evokes a sense of desolation and solemnity. This is the decadence. π π Transportation: Take a minibus from Denizli's main bus station to Pamukkale. The ticket price is about 4.5 lira, and the journey takes about 30 minutes, with buses running every 15 minutes. π§Ύ Ticket price: The ticket price for Pamukkale is 700 lira, with additional charges for Turkish baths and sightseeing buses. You can also choose to buy a hot spring combo ticket. πΆ Best time to travel: Spring and autumn are the best times to visit, either in the morning or just before sunset. I went there just before sunrise. #TurkeyTravel #TurkeyTourism #TurkeyTravelGuide #PamukkalePhotography #PamukkaleHotSprings #CulturalHeritageSharing #AncientGreece
