Independent Travel: Impressions of Cologne 🇩🇪✨

Steel & History in Perfect Harmony Day 3: Took the Eurostar from Paris to Cologne. During the 4-hour journey, the scenery outside the window gradually transformed—from the poetic beauty of Paris to the industrial outlines of German cities, bringing a tinge of melancholy. But the moment I stepped out of the station and looked up at the Cologne Cathedral, all my gloom vanished in an instant. That awe-inspiring sight was absolutely breathtaking! 😲⛪️ Day 4: At 9 AM sharp, we rushed into the cathedral—a textbook example of Gothic grandeur. Its towering spires pierced the sky, so solemn and majestic that it left us breathless. Inside, sunlight poured through the vibrant stained-glass windows, casting dancing hues that instantly calmed the soul. Climbing the 533 steps to the top was exhausting, but the panoramic view of the city made it all worth it—a true testament to human architectural genius! In the afternoon, we strolled along the Rhine River, crossed the Hohenzollern Bridge, and indulged in a hearty German feast: crispy pork knuckle paired with Kölsch beer—so massive yet so satisfying! 🍖🍺 Perhaps the Louvre had set the bar too high, as other museums couldn’t quite compete. But as I stood on the platform looking back at Cologne, I marveled at how modern steel and ancient history collided here, creating a uniquely captivating charm.🌈 #Cologne #Germany #TravelDiaries #GothicBeauty #Wanderlust
