India Chennai guide--Marina Beach

Chennai, India is the 6th most populous city in India, the 4th largest metropolitan area, and ranks 36th among the world's largest urban areas, known as the "Detroit of South Asia." Marina Beach is a 12-kilometer-long sandy beach along the coastline of Chennai 😊. Unlike the rocky Juhu Beach on India's west coast in Mumbai, this beach is primarily sandy 🏝️. Although many locals claim Marina Beach is the longest (or second-longest) beach in the world 🌍, several beaches are actually longer, such as Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh, Ninety Mile Beach in Australia, and Ninety Mile Beach in New Zealand 🇦🇺🇳🇿. Marina Beach was once famous for its pristine beauty ✨, lively atmosphere 🎉, and rich ecosystem 🌿. However, since the mid-20th century, the beach and seawater have become polluted 💔. Plastic bags 🛍️, trash 🗑️, and other pollutants (including cow dung 🐄, horse manure 🐎, and various other waste) have left many sections of the beach abandoned 😢. # Chennai #India#travel guide#trip diary#India Chennai #Marina Beach
