I’m declaring Bluebeard in Indy one of my top restaurants this year — an absolute gem! Ambience 🌿 The place is beautifully designed, and the courtyard is especially charming. Highly recommend sitting outside on a nice day! In the evening, the string lights create a magical atmosphere ✨. We tried several dishes from their seasonal menu (attached 📄), and here’s the breakdown: 🧀 Charcuterie & Cheese Board Two mild cheeses, two types of salami, caper berries, olives, whole grain mustard, and a creamy white sauce. Perfect with wine! 🍷 $22 🦪 Oysters $4 each — fairly small but fresh. decent but not unforgettable. 🐟 HAMACHI CRUDO 🏆 THE STAR OF THE NIGHT! 🎉 Yellowtail paired with sweet muskmelon, dressed with yuzu vinegar and chili oil. Refreshing, complex, and utterly stunning. A must-order! $26 🐦 GRILLED QUAIL Rare to see this on American menus — last time I had it was at a Middle Eastern spot. Tender, juicy, with crispy skin… so flavorful! Truly a benchmark for “perfectly cooked.” (The sauce underneath is a bit salty — no need to dip.) Highly recommend! $39 🧀 RICOTTA GNOCCHI Creamy ricotta dumplings in a truffle mushroom sauce 🍄. Rich and satisfying, though the portion is large. Very popular — worth trying if you love Italian comfort food. $31 🥩 GRILLED RIBEYE (14oz) Cooked medium-rare, topped with plenty of chives and served with a peach-bell pepper sauce. Expertly grilled — a solid steak. $52 🍑 APPLE CAKE (…but actually peach? 😂) A fun dessert shaped like an apple 🍎 — made with peach mousse, mint “leaves,” and almond cake base. Light peach sauce on the side. The mousse was a bit too creamy for me (I prefer it firmer), but still interesting! Give it a try. This was such a memorable meal — great flavors, thoughtful dishes, and a lovely setting. 💰 Without alcohol, expect around $60 per person. Already planning my next visit!
