Indianapolis Museum Day Trip 🏛️

1️⃣ Indiana State Museum 💰 $20 per person. A highly educational museum especially great for kids—each exhibition zone has interactive installations with hands-on activities and learning games. The museum has three floors plus an outdoor canal walkway. First floor: Natural history section exploring Indiana’s prehistoric past, including fossils and Ice Age exhibits. Second floor: Cultural history showcasing Indiana’s contributions to art, industry, and society. Third floor: Usually a Lincoln exhibit, but during our Christmas visit, it was turned into a mini train ride for the holidays 🚂🎄. Also features Indiana’s largest IMAX screen, showing educational films and blockbusters 🎥. The canal walk is located just outside the museum. 2️⃣ Indiana War Memorial & Museum 💰 Free entry. Exhibits honor Indiana’s contributions to U.S. military history from the Revolutionary War to modern conflicts. The Shrine Room is located on the upper level. Galleries display artifacts from the Revolutionary War, World Wars, and the Global War on Terror. Military vehicles and equipment are particularly impressive—tanks, aircraft, and other machinery. Also includes historical materials related to the invasion of China in past conflicts. The memorial faces the obelisk across the street. 3️⃣ Soldiers & Sailors Monument 💰 Free entry. Just two blocks from the War Memorial. Take the elevator up, then climb two short flights of stairs to enjoy a panoramic view of the city 🌆👀. #WorthVisitingMuseums #MustVisitMuseums #WorldCulturalHeritage #NeoclassicalArchitecture #WorldHeritageCity #OffTheBeatenPathTravel
