Introduction to Fairbanks Winter Activities ❄️

Introduction to Fairbanks Winter Activities ❄️ When visiting Fairbanks for the aurora, you’ll likely stay up late waiting for the lights 🌌, so catching up on sleep during the day is a must 😴. Since there aren’t too many natural sights around Fairbanks 🏔️, the daytime is perfect for joining some winter fun activities! The most common ones include: ice fishing 🎣, hot springs ♨️, dog sledding 🛷, snowmobiling 🏍️, and reindeer walks 🦌. • Ice Fishing 🎣 A cozy cabin is set up on the frozen lake 🛖, where you drill a hole and start fishing! The cabin is super warm 🔥, so no worries about the cold at any time~You can even fry your catch right on the spot 🐟🍳. Ice fishing usually takes place at Chena Lake, which is also a great spot for aurora viewing 🌟. Fishing while waiting for the lights? Romantic and practical ✨! • Hot Springs ♨️ The hot springs are located at Chena Hot Springs Resort, about a 1.5-hour drive from Fairbanks 🚗. If you’re staying there or planning to see the aurora nearby, it’s highly recommended~Affordable price 💲 and incredibly relaxing 😌. But if you’re making the trip just for the hot springs, it might be a bit of a trek 🤔. • Dog Sledding 🛷 We chose the Iditarod Champion Kennel in Talkeetna, a town along the way from Anchorage to Fairbanks 🏆. This is the base of the 6-time Iditarod champion legend, Dallas Seavey~The experience was absolutely amazing 💯, and the dogs were both handsome and well-behaved 🐕‍🦺! • Snowmobiling 🏍️ We joined a tour starting near the Matanuska Glacier to explore the blue ice caves 💎. Another classic route is from Girdwood to the Spencer Blue Ice Caves~The scenery around Anchorage is highly recommended for its breathtaking views 🏔️✨! • Reindeer Walk 🦌 Get up close and personal with reindeer for photos 📸~A uniquely local activity! Guides share interesting facts about reindeer habits, and each reindeer has its own personality, making it super fun 🥰! In summary 📝: While these activities near Fairbanks may not be worth a special trip on their own 🎯, they’re the perfect complement to an aurora-chasing adventure~They’ll definitely enrich your overall travel experience 🌈! #Alaska#Fairbanks#DogSledding#IceFishing
