Isfahan 🇮🇷 | One-Day Highlights City Walk Route

Isfahan feels like the most familiar city in Iran to me, with its road planning and urban layout reminiscent of Guangzhou. Walking alone here is never intimidating, making it perfect for city walks. Here’s a simplified route that can be completed in one day: 📍 Jame Mosque of Isfahan Ticket: 1M Toman (¥15). A UNESCO-listed ancient mosque with stunning domes and arched gateways. Nearby, the Jame Bazaar offers a more local vibe. 📍 Grand Bazaar Isfahan’s grand bazaar sells daily necessities, clothing, carpets, and souvenirs. The closer to Naqsh-e Jahan Square, the more touristy it gets—prices are more reasonable in local-oriented stalls. (Pro tip: A coarse linen cushion-sized rug shouldn’t cost more than 2M Toman/$4.) 📍 Naqsh-e Jahan Square The heart of Isfahan, surrounded by palaces and famous mosques. Best visited in the evening when it’s livelier and more picturesque. 📍 Imam Mosque Ticket: 1M Toman (¥15). The most beautiful mosque in Isfahan, featuring iconic Persian blue-and-yellow tilework in the main hall and seminary. 📍 Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque The mosque featured on LP’s cover. No need to go inside—just snap a photo outside. Best light is in the afternoon, especially near sunset. 📍 Ali Qapu Palace Ticket: 1M Toman. A quick visit (10-15 mins) to admire the intricate murals and carvings. Opening hours are erratic—it was open at 3-4 PM but closed at 4:30 PM on Friday. Google Maps’ timings are unreliable. 📍 Vank Cathedral Ticket: 2M Toman (¥30)—the most expensive religious site I’ve visited in Iran 🌚. The interior frescoes are breathtaking, and a nearby café replicates the same exquisite dome art. Note: Opening hours are 8:30 AM–12:45 PM & 2:30–5:45 PM (Google Maps is wrong). P.S. The streets around this cathedral seem to be Isfahan’s hipster district, with great cafés—perfect for a leisurely stroll and coffee. 📍 Si-o-se-pol Bridge A photogenic 33-arch bridge, though the dried-up riverbed ruins the reflection shots. Best visited at sunset for golden hour and night views while avoiding the parched river in photos. #Isfahan #IranTravel #CityWalk
