Italy | Home to a Picturesque Water Castle π°π
Sirmione is one of the most popular towns on the northern Italian lake, Lago di Garda, and it's also a filming location for the movie Call Me by Your Name. Even in May, this place is swarming with tourists. I visited on a rainy day, which gave the scenery a different atmosphere from when it's sunny. π» Sirmione doesn't have a train station, so you can take the train to Desenzano del Garda or Peschiera del Garda, and then take a bus or boat to Sirmione. ππ³οΈ Sirmione is also a thermal spa town. If you're staying for a day or two, you can also visit Aquaria Terme di Sirmione to soak in the thermal baths. β² The lake water surrounding the town is an agate green color even on rainy days; you can imagine how beautiful it must be on a sunny day! The town itself is very picturesque, with many quaint shops, restaurants, and gelaterias. ποΈππ¨ π· The main attractions in Sirmione include: πCastello Scaligero: A medieval water castle, it is one of the most well-preserved and scenic castles in Italy. πGrotte di Catullo: A Roman ruin that also offers a panoramic view of Lake Garda and the distant mountains. On a nice day, you can also take a boat tour around Lake Garda. The lake is really vast, with many beautiful towns along its shores, no wonder it's a renowned holiday destination. ποΈποΈ #Italy #Lombardy #LakeGarda #Sirmione #Castle #WaterCastle #DreamyCastle #RomanHistoricalLandmark
