As someone whoβs eaten fried chicken for over 20 years, I was genuinely blown away this time! π² One of the proudest moments for any out-of-town foodie is getting a thumbs-up from a local driver. A friend recommended Jacques Imoβs for dinner, and when our Uber driver heard the name, he shouted, βThat place is amazing! You HAVE to order the rabbit!β π° We didnβt end up getting it, but the food still left us stunnedβwe were in π€― mode the whole meal! My personal top pick: Fried Chicken ππππππππππ Crispy, well-seasoned coating with incredibly juicy dark meat underneath. Itβs just a fried chicken leg, but the flavor was so complex and unforgettable. Though the chicken had passed on a while ago, it truly became a dish bursting with life. If I were a chicken, this would be a noble way to go. ππ« Second place: Cornbread πππππ Third place: Pork Ribs πππππ Honestly, itβs hard to choose between these two! Both could easily hold their own on a Michelin-starred table. The cornbread was rich with garlic and butter, giving a satisfying main-course vibe. The pork ribs had a smoky aroma reminiscent of rich, cured meat. High-level dishes in a cozy, unpretentious settingβI felt totally relaxed digging in with my hands. I straight-up gnawed every bit off that chicken leg! π We also tried: Crawfish Rice Bowl πππ β It was okay, but I mightβve enjoyed it more if I hadnβt gotten so caught up with the chicken and let it go cold.
