Jerusalem: Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus ✝️
📍1. Dominus Flevit Church ("The Lord Wept") According to the Bible, Jesus wept on the Mount of Olives as he foresaw Jerusalem’s destruction. This tear-shaped chapel marks where he mourned the city’s fate. 📍2. Garden of Gethsemane & Church of All Nations Here, Jesus prayed in agony the night before his crucifixion—betrayed by Judas, his sweat "like drops of blood" (Luke 22:44). The church’s dim interior, lit by olive-green glass, evokes that sorrowful night. 📍3. Via Dolorosa (Station 1) Jesus began carrying his cross through these streets. Tradition claims his robe was kept in Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (Mtskheta, Georgia)—though I visited and found no trace. 📍4. Church of the Holy Sepulchre The climax of Christ’s journey: Crucifixion: At Golgotha (Station 12) 🔹Burial: In the tomb now capped by a shrine 🔹Resurrection: Celebrated every Easter #HolyLand #Jerusalem #ChristianPilgrimage #BibleHistory
