Jerusalem Through 3,000 Years šŸ‡®šŸ‡± Road Trip

šŸš— Road Trip Itinerary: Tel Aviv → BahĆ”'Ć Gardens (Haifa) → Walls of Acre → Sea of Galilee → Golan Heights Winery → Nazareth → Dead Sea → Jerusalem → Bethlehem → Tel Aviv āœˆļø Flights: Round-trip direct flight from Guangzhou to Tel Aviv (Hainan Airlines launched this route in 2018). āœ… Tel Aviv-Yafo: Israel’s second-largest city and its first capital after independence. āœ… BahĆ”'Ć Gardens: A stunning terraced garden, the spiritual center of the BahĆ”'Ć Faith (a relatively new independent religion). āœ… Old Akko (Acre) Walls: A historic Crusader stronghold. āœ… Golan Heights: A strategic plateau, originally part of Syria, now occupied by Israel. āœ… Dead Sea: Located at the border of Israel, Palestine, and Jordan—experience floating effortlessly in its ultra-salty waters. āœ… Bethlehem: A Palestinian city under Israeli control, easily accessible from Jerusalem. Known as the birthplace of Jesus. āœ… Jerusalem: The most iconic destination in Israel, revered as the "Holy City" for Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Western Wall (Wailing Wall): The holiest Jewish prayer site—visit on the Sabbath for a deeply spiritual experience (photography is discouraged, but I secretly took a few shots). Church of the Holy Sepulchre: Believed to be the site of Jesus’ crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. Tower of David Light Show: A breathtaking historical projection show (book tickets online in advance). šŸ‡®šŸ‡± Bethlehem Experience: The contrast was striking—modern Israel on one side, a starkly different reality in Palestine. After crossing the checkpoint, kids and vendors swarmed our car, knocking on windows to sell souvenirs. The towering Israeli West Bank barrier felt oppressive, a harsh reminder of the region’s tensions. It made me deeply grateful to live in a peaceful country. šŸ“– Pre-trip Reading: I bought "Jerusalem: The Biography" (by Simon Sebag Montefiore), but the dense religious history was hard to digest. šŸŽ« Visa: Applied at the Israeli Consulate in Guangzhou—no in-person visit required (a friend submitted my passport). Surprisingly, they issued a 10-year visa, but given current conflicts, I doubt I’ll return soon. #Israel #Jerusalem #3000YearsOfJerusalem #HolyLandTravel #OffTheBeatenPath #DeadSea
