Joshua Tree National Park | The Park
Joshua Tree National Park is the closest national park to Los Angeles by car 🏞️, about 120 miles away, and a two-hour drive is plenty. The park is named after the Joshua tree, a large yucca species unique to the southwestern United States, and it’s also a representative plant of the Mojave Desert 🏜️. The park is huge, almost the size of Rhode Island 😂, but for a quick visit, a day trip from LA is enough. Highlights and Activities: 1️⃣ Desert Botany: Check out cacti 🌵 and Joshua trees 🌲; 2️⃣ Stargazing ✨, why: Suitable altitude, dry desert air, stable atmosphere; 3️⃣ Hiking, there are trails in the park that are beautiful but not dangerous; 4️⃣ See rocks of various shapes and sizes, like: Skull Rock, Heart Rock, Arch Rock, Face Rock, Cow Rock, Cap Rock, etc.; 5️⃣ Camping ⛺️, there are many campsites, usually costing $10-25 per night, book in advance on their official website; 6️⃣ Watch the sunset 🌇, the most recommended spot is: Keys View, where you can overlook the entire city of Palm Springs, Coachella Valley, and Salton Sea.
