Journey Over Mountains to Another World📍Enchantments
The Enchantments trail has truly gone viral this year! 😅 Since I had to fly from the Bay Area to hike it, I chose the most cost-effective time for autumn colors. Based on past foliage patterns, we booked the first week of October, though this year’s peak likely hit in the second week. 🍂✈️ The Core Zone is absolutely breathtaking! 🥹 After conquering Aasgard Pass, Isolation Lake unfolds before your eyes—it feels like stepping into another world: massive white rocks, turquoise waters, and scattered orange pine trees. Every step beyond feels like a painting. Photos simply don’t do it justice! 🏔️💙 • Colchuck Lake: Took about 2 hours to reach the first lake. • Aasgard Pass: Highly recommend wearing gloves! 🧤 This section involves scrambling on all fours—thrilling but requires route-finding skills (and maybe a bit of unnecessary suffering 😅). • The descent post-Core Zone was the toughest part—steep, uneven rocks with big drops. We even went off-trail accidentally and ended up bushwhacking! 😬 • The final stretch was surprisingly pleasant—smooth and runnable (perfect for trail runners!). 🏃♀️💨 We arrived at the parking lot around 5 AM (already crowded!), started hiking at 6 AM, and finished in over 12 hours—just before dark! 🌄⏳ Despite the rocky terrain, I wore high-top hiking boots, but surprisingly, many people rocked trail runners (and yes, some were literally running the trail—mad respect!). 👟🔥 Pro tip: Carry less water or just a filter. I brought 2.5L but only drank 1L… guess I was too cold to thirst! ❄️💧 #EscapeTheDailyGrind #Travel #OutdoorAdventure #Hiking #AutumnVibes #MountainLife #Climbing #ExploreTheWorld #TrailRunning #NatureTherapy
