Just Go First | A Hidden Gem in Paris: Hôtel de la Marine 🏛️✨
I walked into Hôtel de la Marine with some skepticism, only to be left speechless by the breathtaking view of Place de la Concorde and the dazzling Al Thani Collection.‼️ Because its architectural style echoes the nearby Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel, and with the Le Cordon Bleu café on the street, I initially mistook it for another hotel and almost walked right past it. 🗝️ The Exhibition at Hôtel de la Marine is Divided into Two Parts: 1️⃣ The Original State Display, Rivaling Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors The audio guide, with its immersive sound effects, changes automatically as you move through different rooms. In the office, it mimics the echoes of a meeting hall, while in the ballroom, you can almost feel the lively chatter of past gatherings. 💡 During the exhibition, you’ll also visit the naval office, which features a massive interactive multimedia table. As you approach, your audio guide instantly connects to the system, allowing you to explore stories of France’s maritime adventures and conquests. ⚜️ The highlight of the display is undoubtedly the magnificent corridor, comparable to Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors, and the terrace that offers a panoramic view of Paris on a sunny day! 2️⃣ The Al Thani Collection One of the world’s most renowned private collections of art and antiques, the Al Thani Collection is now on long-term display at Hôtel de la Marine. This collection includes treasures from multiple civilizations, spanning from ancient times to the 19th century, and covers cultures such as Ancient Greece, Rome, India, Persia, and Medieval Europe, showcasing the interplay between different civilizations. The exhibition begins with six exquisitely crafted pendants and elegant decorations. It incorporates modern technology to provide an immersive experience, allowing visitors to delve deeper into the historical and cultural significance behind the exhibits. ⚠️ If you’re only visiting the terrace and the Al Thani Collection, 1-1.5 hours is enough. However, the appartement in the original state display is extremely popular, so be sure to book your tickets in advance if you want to visit! The cloakroom is free. #MuseumsWorthVisiting #ExploreTheWorldWithLikeMindedPeople #ClassicalArchitecture #JustGoFirst #HistoryAndModernity #FirstTripOfTheYear #TheBestPlanIsToStart
