Kagoshima | Sakurajima Daily Life (2)π
Near Kurokami Middle School on the east side of Sakurajima , you can see the traces of the great eruptions during the Taisho and Showa periods, and you can also see the active volcanic craters. ππ ππΈ I visited Senroen Garden. This place was originally the villa of the Shimazu family, the daimyo of the Satsuma Domain. There are many landscapes built in the style of Chinese interest. Now it is also operated by the descendants of the Shimazu family. There is even a cat shrine in the garden ππΈ I highly recommend the restaurant in Senroen Garden. At the adjacent Shuseikan, I learned that many important historical events during the Meiji Restoration were related to Kagoshima. This place is also the hometown of Saigo Takamori and Okubo Toshimichi. ππΈ So I added the Meiji Restoration Hometown Museum and the Dawn Museum to my itinerary and learned a lot of historical knowledge.π This time I bought a two-day Kagoshima Cute Pass , which allows unlimited rides on municipal buses, trams, Sakurajima ferries, and Sakurajima sightseeing buses. π I recommend it. ππ€ I took the JR Kyushu sightseeing express Tamatebako to Ibusuki and rode my bike to find all the Ibu manhole covers. The weather was great that day, and you could even see the smoking Sulfur Island in the distance from the beach. ππΈ I experienced the sand bath, where natural hot springs gush out by the beach, which was really amazing.β¨οΈ π Cats are cute, and the pork is delicious. I will definitely come again. #JapanTravel π
