Kampar Restaurant β If Price Isnβt a Concern, Go for It πβ¨
π 611 S 7th St, Philadelphia, PA 19147 π₯ Nasi Lemak My first time trying this style of rice β fragrant with coconut milk π₯₯π. Comes with a sweet-savory sauce, peanuts, and tiny dried fish. Portion was barely bigger than a zongzi for a high price β the only βmeatβ was a few dried fish π . π Chili Pan Mee Minced pork, mushrooms, dried fish, fried garlic, and egg noodles β tasty and not spicy πΆοΈπ. Honestly tasted similar to my homemade beef noodle stir-fry. π Wagyu Abacus Seeds Wagyu with mushrooms and taro rice cakes β flavor was okay, but portion was tiny. π Ayam Goreng Berempah Sauce was nice and Southeast Asian, but the chicken was served lukewarm, dry, and again β small portion ππ. β Pros: Flavor is decent. Ambiance is nice (one of the better Southeast Asian spots in Philly). Service is friendly. β Cons: Overpriced with tiny portions β rarely felt so underwhelmed by value π. We had to order 5 dishes between two people to feel full. Mandatory 5% service fee + suggested tip starts at 20% β for a casual Philly spot, thatβs a bit much π§Ύ. Felt like itβs priced for a non-Asian crowd β lots of white diners. π Compared to similar Philly spots like Mawn and Kalaya, Iβd highly recommend Mawn!
